My name is Emily and I created EmmyLou Farr in late 2020 after collaborating with my friend Jen Kindell to hand-make over 600 tie-dyed and screen-printed shirts in about a month during the presidential election. As I tie-dyed more and more, our home started bursting at the seams with colorful creations and I realized I needed to find new homes for them all.

After years of working with traditional tie dye as a summertime activity, I discovered the ice dye technique and fell in love with it. I love how the colors blend together, creating romantic, floral patterns.

I've found that my heart is happiest when I'm creating special, one-of-a-kind treasures for my customers. I don't love making a style and then mechanically recreating it over and over. I welcome custom orders, collaborations, and other fun projects where my creativity can soar.

I make all my creations at my studio in Novato, CA where I live with my husband, two step-kids, two tabby cats, and one very stubborn basset hound.
